I’ve been a huge fan of Madison Cunningham since I first listened to “Pin It Down.” I can’t recall how many times I listened to it on repeat! Her composition, songwriting, and mastery of guitar are on another level!
When I was scrolling through Instagram and came across an ad for her one-month-long online songwriting workshop, I didn’t even think twice before signing up. Even though the timing wasn’t ideal, given my planned gig and workload, I didn’t want to miss this opportunity. After spending a month in this workshop, I can see that it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I joined weekly online classes every Sunday alongside around 400 people from all over the world! Each week we had a homework assignment - writing at least one song using the process or technique taught in that class. I couldn’t complete all my homework, but I already have 4 song ideas ready to be polished and shared with my audience! This workshop also showed me how Madison Cunningham became the person she is today. She has great tools and processes to help her keep going. And more importantly, she has a pure, sweet, vulnerable and generous soul that she shared with us. I can not thank enough...
It arrived at just the moment I was feeling stuck with my songwriting, and I feel so grateful to have been part of it. Even though I forgot some of the lyrics or how to play it, I already played one of the songs at my last performance 🙂 Here’s a little sneak peek of it. I can’t overstate how well the sessions are organized by @school_of_song. They’re really good at providing a platform for uploading and sharing songs, community building and keeping the community alive. We’ll even have an in-person song-sharing gathering this upcoming weekend. Kudos to the team! Looking forward to joining the Berlin gathering
